Emirati women share sports journey
Middlesex University Dubai, through the London Sports Institute, launched a series of dialogues titled "Women in Sports: A Presence That Drives Change and Breaks Boundaries," aimed at highlighting the evolving participation of Emirati women in the sports field. The opening session featured a distinguished group of Emirati female athletes, including Maryam Al Farsi, who competed in the Olympic 100 meters, and Maja Al Shahi, who will participate in the Paris 2024 Olympics. The session clarified that increased training opportunities, support, and funding have contributed to empowering women, and that building support networks encourages girls to enter the sports arena and pursue their international ambitions.
