Referee of Kouassi's goal to oversee Barcelona Sevilla
A report has revealed that referee Juan Martinez Munuera has been appointed to officiate the match between Sevilla and Barcelona at Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium, with confirmation that Munuera's record is full of controversial decisions in previous encounters with the Catalonian club. Among the most notable incidents was his incorrect sending off of Argentine Julián Simón in a prior match, and the disallowance of Paco Ctopers's goal for offside after a 7-minute review due to technical malfunction, which angered Barcelona's management. His record also includes famous moments of controversy, such as the incident involving the phrase "Thank God" during a review of a goal by Fermín López, which was seen as an expression of relief from Munuera. It is noted that Munuera has not officiated any Barcelona matches since the start of the 2026-2027 season, and this match will serve as a new test for him given his history of controversial decisions.
