Facebook allows users to control algorithms
Meta has launched a new feature on the Facebook platform called "Algorithm Control" that allows users to better manage their recommended content by selecting the topics they want to see or reduce their appearance. The feature enables users to instantly adjust their preferences through a preferences menu, offering options like "Interested" and "Not Interested" to clarify how well the content matches their interests. This initiative aims to give users greater control over their experience on the platform and enhance content personalization based on their preferences, rather than relying solely on previous interactions, especially as AI's influence on content recommendations continues to grow. The feature is now being applied to the homepage feed and short videos (Reels), as part of Meta's efforts to improve customization and provide users with a more tailored experience across its platforms.
