Coalition intercepts Houthis missile to Riyadh
The statements from the coalition forces focused on intercepting and destroying their air defenses against a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis towards Riyadh, in an attempt to target civilians and civilian infrastructure in the capital, which is home to over 8 million people. Al-Maliki confirmed that the Houthis continue to escalate by repeatedly attempting to target other cities such as Bisha, Taif, Farasan, and Yanbu, and that the air defenses have thwarted these attacks. He emphasized the coalition's right to take necessary measures according to international law to deter Houthi threats, in the context of a deliberate military escalation targeting civilians and civilian installations.
