Jordan traders hold back cigarette sales amid price hike reports
Report indicates that some tobacco traders in the local market are refraining from selling certain types of cigarettes amid expectations of a price increase ranging between 5 and 10 piasters per pack in the coming days. No official announcement has been issued yet regarding the increase or the specific brands that will be affected, but companies are monitoring the upcoming price lists. These developments follow consecutive increases in the prices of some varieties since the beginning of 2026, where prices rose by 10 to 20 piasters in January, with a potential for another increase in the near future.
