Cop17 Overview: UN Nature Summit
The article discusses the upcoming COP17 biodiversity summit in Yerevan, Armenia, where global governments will assess their progress on the 2022 agreement to protect nature. Key targets include conserving 30% of land and sea and reforming $500 billion of harmful subsidies, but most have seen little progress, largely due to funding shortfalls. The summit aims to address these challenges and push for concrete actions to meet biodiversity goals amid concerns that many targets may be out of reach.
