Trump proposes partial Ukraine ceasefire
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy expressed surprise at Donald Trump's announcement of an energy ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia, which Trump claimed had been agreed upon but provided no details. Zelenskyy stated he would accept such a deal only if Vladimir Putin also agreed to halt attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure and if it included reciprocal measures backed by international guarantees. The announcement, which came without prior consultation, has intensified tensions between the US and Ukraine, amid ongoing Russian strikes on Ukrainian energy sites and Kyiv's refusal to stop bombing Russian oil refineries until Moscow ceases its attacks.
