Ohio State faculty warn on academic freedom
Ohio State faculty expressed concerns over the Chase Center's potential impact on academic freedom, citing its autonomous powers and legislative creation with an ideological mission. The university's Committee on Academic Freedom and Responsibility questioned whether the center's legal mandate and director’s authority undermine faculty rights, despite current leadership denying any restrictions. The issue remains under review as university bodies consider policies to protect academic freedom related to the center.
