GOP lawmaker vows to bar Omar amid DOJ probe
A federal investigation into Rep. Ilhan Omar’s immigration and naturalization documents has led to a raid on her Washington, D.C., residence and raised questions about her identity and citizenship status. Some Republican legislators, citing evidence that her official records list different names, have called for her expulsion if allegations of immigration fraud are proven. Omar, a naturalized U.S. citizen born in Somalia, denies wrongdoing, and officials note that a criminal investigation alone does not lead to removal from Congress.
