Platforms regain user feed control
Social media platforms are introducing new tools that enable users to have greater control over their content feeds, moving away from reliance on algorithmic recommendations. Features like Instagram's "your algorithm," TikTok's "manage topics," and YouTube's "custom feeds" allow users to specify interests and dislikes, aiming to balance personalized content with user agency. This shift responds to user concerns about lack of control and the prevalence of irrelevant or harmful content in feeds driven solely by algorithms.
