CJP: Indian leaders detained at barricaded protest
Leaders of India's Cockroach Janta Party were detained after entering a heavily-guarded protest site in Delhi, where they demanded the resignation of the election chief over a controversial voter list revision. The party had planned a demonstration at Jantar Mantar, which was later de-notified as a protest site by authorities, leading to increased security measures and restrictions across the city. The protests, involving opposition parties and thousands of supporters, oppose the voter roll changes, which critics say may disenfranchise eligible voters.
