Green Party aims to prevent extremism
The Green Party has emphasized its desire to prevent its members from being influenced by extremists after voting on a controversial motion that equates Zionism with racism. The motion, which supports a single democratic Palestinian state in all of historic Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital, was approved by members and has caused internal divisions and criticism from Jewish organizations. Party leaders, including Westminster leader Ellie Chowns and former leader Caroline Lucas, have expressed concerns about the motion's impact on party unity and its reflection of the views of the majority of members. The motion has sparked debates about the party's stance on Palestine and Zionism, with some leaders calling for reforms to ensure inclusivity and protection from external influence.
