Eversource leaders fund Healey and Driscoll
Eversource employees and lobbyists donated nearly $10,000 to Governor Maura Healey’s campaign shortly before she urged expedited approval for a gas pipeline expansion project. Healey, who supports the project to lower energy costs for Massachusetts customers, stated that donations did not influence her decision, despite climate advocates expressing concerns about timing and potential conflicts of interest. The project is expected to supply 600,000 gas customers and save $40 million annually, though critics argue it conflicts with efforts to transition away from natural gas.
