Ex-OpenAI safety researchers cite suspicious firing
Three OpenAI safety researchers were fired last week after raising concerns about AI safety and security protocols. The researchers, Mikita Balesni, Tomak Korbak, and Jasmine Wang, allege they were dismissed for communicating with outside safety organizations and handling sensitive information improperly, which OpenAI denies, attributing the terminations to policy violations. The researchers warn that their firing may hinder transparency and safety efforts within the company.
