NYC Implements Click-to-Cancel Subscriptions
New York City has implemented a "click-to-cancel" rule requiring businesses to provide a simple, transparent process for cancelling subscriptions, regardless of where the business is based. The regulation aims to prevent practices like long hold times and misleading disclosures, with civil penalties for violations. The rule is expected to save residents millions annually and increase ease of cancellation for consumers.
