Clay Aiken felt devastated after Rosie O'Donnell revealed him on The View
Clay Aiken reflected on the emotional impact of being outed by Rosie O'Donnell on "The View" in 2006, which occurred during a live discussion after a perceived minor incident with Kelly Ripa. Although O'Donnell defended Aiken by calling the remark "homophobic," Aiken did not publicly confirm his sexuality until 2008, when he appeared on the cover of People with his son. He previously gained fame as the runner-up on "American Idol" season two.
