Investigation details Eaton, Palisades fire failures
An independent investigation into the January 2025 Eaton and Palisades fires in Los Angeles confirms significant failures in government response and coordination. The report highlights delayed evacuation alerts, inadequate fire management, and communication breakdowns among fire agencies, contributing to the deaths of 31 people and widespread destruction. It also criticizes the Los Angeles Fire Department’s lack of experience with large wildfires and its poor response coordination during the crisis.
