Newsom approves California's first post-production tax credit
California Governor Gavin Newsom has signed the state’s first standalone post-production tax incentive to boost its film and TV industry. The program offers a 35% to 50% credit on qualified post-production expenses in California, without requiring productions to shoot there. Starting in January with an initial $10 million funding, the measure aims to bring jobs back to the state's post-production sector, which has declined as productions move elsewhere.
