Libyan Unit Duties Heighten Doctors' Discontent

The article highlighted the escalation of protests by doctors and healthcare workers in Libya due to the deterioration of healthcare facilities, shortages of supplies and medicines, declining salaries, and delays in disbursing rightful entitlements. The protests, which include a sit-in in front of the Prime Minister’s Office in Tripoli, come amid criticism of recent administrative measures, such as signing memoranda to organize specialties among departments, which do not adequately address the fundamental lack of resources and essential equipment. Expectations indicate that genuine solutions require providing the necessary financial resources and improving working conditions, as doctors’ salaries range between $150 and $200 per month. This situation exacerbates the suffering of workers and threatens the stability of healthcare services in the country.
