Russia ready to restart peace talks in November

Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed that Moscow is prepared to resume trilateral peace talks with the United States and Ukraine in November, in response to a request from U.S. envoy Stephen Weitzkopf. This came after his meeting with Weitzkopf in Saint Petersburg, during which he expressed Moscow's interest in discussing a security framework that guarantees the interests of all parties after the conflict ends. The next round is expected to be held in Abu Dhabi. On the Ukrainian side, President Zelensky stated his desire to hold the meeting before the beginning of November but praised the discussions held with the American envoy, noting a consensus on the next steps despite Russia not retracting its expansionist demands, including control over the entire Donbas region. Weitzkopf also announced the release of American prisoner Stephen Hoppard. The meeting discussed economic cooperation between Russia and the United States, including fertilizer exports. However, the overall tone indicates ongoing tensions, with Russia intensifying efforts to unify its negotiating stance and affirming that no political concessions will be made at this time.
