Erdoğan commends Syria and Turkey agencies on Meraj Oral arrest

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated the Turkish and Syrian intelligence agencies for capturing terrorist Mevlüt Orel, who is accused of committing the Baniyas massacre in Syria and the Reşadiye explosions in Turkey. He explained that Orel was the leader of an armed group known as "The Syrian Resistance" and was linked to the Bêhîda and Râs al-Nab’ massacres in Baniyas, which resulted in the deaths of 53 people in the 2013 Reyhanlı bombings. The arrest of Orel is considered a significant achievement in counter-terrorism efforts, as he was detained while attempting to cross the Syrian border after a trial that led to multiple defendants being sentenced to life imprisonment.
