Pakistani counterfeit stamps harm US Postal Service

Fahim Akram, a 33-year-old Pakistani national, has been arrested on charges of operating an unlicensed website selling counterfeit postage stamps online. His activities resulted in losses estimated at over $126 million for the United States Postal Service, after selling more than 5.1 million fake stamps to over 5,200 customers at around two dollars per stamp. This allowed shipments to be made at less than official costs, causing significant revenue losses for the postal service. The operation comes after weeks of investigation, and he has been charged by US authorities. He may be extradited to the United States or tried in Pakistan.
