Libyan Health Strikes Deepen Crises

The Health Sector Movement in Libya has affirmed its ongoing sit-in protests demanding wage improvements, the payment of overdue dues, and the provision of medicines and medical equipment. The movement also calls for the fight against corruption and mismanagement within the healthcare sector. Additionally, doctors closed the Doctors' Syndicate headquarters in Tripoli in protest against its failure to defend their rights, demanding new elections to represent them effectively. The movement aims to improve working conditions, activate allowances, and pay differences, alongside protecting medical personnel from assaults. A key focus is on ensuring the availability of necessary medical supplies. The core demands remain centered on salary increases, enhancing the work environment, and providing essential resources to deliver proper healthcare services. Despite government measures addressing financial issues and seeking settlements, protests continue.
