Zamir moves parachutists before elections and settlers are detained

The article focused on the Israeli military strengthening its forces in the West Bank in preparation for the Israeli elections scheduled for next week, amidst escalating tensions and hostile acts by settlers against Palestinians. Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir declared a state of maximum alert and ordered the deployment of units from the parachute brigade and others to reinforce military presence, especially in northern and central parts of the West Bank, with the aim of ensuring the elections are held in safe conditions. These measures coincide with a surge in violence, which has included attacks on homes and farmers, resulting in the death of 30 Palestinians since the beginning of the year, and the detention of 10 settlers under international pressure, although tensions continue to escalate.
