Ukraine refutes Russian territorial claims
Ukraine denied the Russian claims that their forces have controlled more than 1,800 square kilometers of territory and about 100 settlements since September 1, including the eastern town of Dovropyblia. Kyiv confirmed that its troops have continued to liberate land since the beginning of fall and has achieved greater gains than the Russian forces have managed to control. Meanwhile, the pace of Russian advances has slowed this year, with fighting concentrated around the cities of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk within Ukraine's "Fortress Belt," aiming to seize the industrial region of Donetsk. Ukraine also denied reaching or even approaching the outskirts of Kramatorsk, despite ongoing Russian escalation targeting Ukraine’s infrastructure during the winter. Kyiv continues to carry out drone attacks on its military and logistical sites.
