Tanker explosion in Hormuz Strait Iran proposes reopening plan

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that a second oil tanker has exploded in the Strait of Hormuz, stating that the vessel was struck by a mine and has moved a step closer to the United States. The Iranian Navy confirmed that the strait is currently closed. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi clarified that Iran has presented a seven-day plan to reopen the strait and restore navigation, provided the conditions are suitable, and that the final decision rests with the United States. Araqchi also affirmed that Iran is committed to ensuring safe navigation and that the crises are the result of American and Israeli aggressive actions, calling for dialogue and the avoidance of military solutions.
