Tunisia March Calls for Regime Change

Today, Tunisians demonstrated in Mohamed Ali Square in the heart of the capital to protest against the worsening living conditions and the rising food prices. They demanded the fall of the regime and broader freedoms. The protesters carried slogans emphasizing the need to stop restrictions on public freedoms and to ensure judicial independence, along with calls for urgent economic reforms and fair trials. This march was organized in response to a call from a coordinating body comprising nine national and trade union organizations. It serves as a reaction to the deteriorating economic and social situation, the escalating poverty and unemployment, and it holds the authorities responsible for the current state of affairs.
