Hezbollah's explosives threaten civilians
Hezbollah acknowledged ownership of the truck containing explosives that was seized east of Lebanon. It was loaded with approximately 780 kilograms of explosives, including TNT and C4, and confirmed that their use is solely directed against Israel. The shipment poses a danger to civilians, especially if it suffers any technical malfunction or targeting, which could lead to a large explosion in a residential area. Experts believe that these materials could be used to manufacture IEDs or to rig vehicles, and might have military applications such as detonating drones or for internal operations, although the truck has not been targeted by Israel so far. Experts also emphasize that importing these explosives into southern Lebanon seems currently impossible due to military control and on-the-ground conditions, as investigations continue to hold those responsible for the transportation accountable.
