Israel hints at expanding Lebanon operations

Israeli threats in southern Lebanon are escalating, as Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz indicated the possibility of expanding military control to include the Nabatieh and Litani regions, targeting strategic sites and high ground around Nabatieh and Jabal al-Rifai. This is part of a plan to establish natural geographical barriers aimed at enforcing security control. These threats form part of an Israeli strategy to dismantle Hezbollah's forces and achieve political and territorial objectives, with these developments connected to military movements in southern Syria. The heightened tension reflects an escalation linked to Israeli elections and military preparations, alongside potential expansion of the confrontation with Hezbollah and Iran. This comes amid Israeli air and artillery strikes on southern Lebanon, with Lebanese Forces and Lebanese authorities resisting efforts to access their agricultural lands.
