Italy air traffic drops half
Italy reduced the number of flights by 50% due to technical issues with the air traffic control network, which caused the cancellation and postponement of many flights, including transcontinental ones. Innaf company ruled out the possibility of a cyberattack and confirmed that alternative systems allowed for the regular flow of air traffic until 6 a.m., but ongoing problems continued to disrupt the flow of aircraft and reduced the airspace's capacity. The crisis led to delays at airports such as Fiumicino, Milan, and Bergamo.
