China Calls on Israel to Halt West Bank Settlement Construction

China urged Israel to halt and reverse its forced settlement construction in the West Bank, with Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasizing the need for a two-state solution and full access to the Gaza Strip to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe. He clarified that promoting peace is the foundation of China's policy toward the Middle East, and that resolving the conflict requires both parties to return to dialogue and political settlement. These statements come amid an escalation of Israeli attacks in the occupied territories, which have continued since the West Bank was occupied in 1967. The international community considers the settlements illegal.
