Clashes at Taiz entrance in Yemen

Deadly clashes took place between Yemeni government forces and the Houthis at the southwestern southern entrance of Taiz city, following the Houthis' attempt to advance into the city. The area witnessed intense fighting that resulted in hundreds of casualties and injuries on both sides, with government forces thwarting Houthi attempts to progress. These efforts come amid a complete siege imposed by the Houthis on Taiz, as they cut off the last main routes connecting the city to the southern provinces. The Yemeni Air Force carried out 1,879 precise targeting operations against Houthi sites, leading to the destruction and disabling of hundreds of vehicles and the neutralization of about 950 insurgents within 24 hours. In response, the Houthis launched 119 airstrikes during the same period across eight provinces, including Taiz, targeting Saudi military sites and gatherings, amid escalating tensions between the two sides since July.
