Iraq Team Comments on Graham Arnold
The Iraqi Football Association has decided to keep the national team coach, Australian Graham Arnold, despite their exit from the group stage at Gulf 27, amid criticism and calls for his dismissal. The federation confirmed that Arnold, 63 years old, will continue to lead the team until the 2027 Asian Cup, with full technical and administrative authority granted to him, in order to better prepare for upcoming tournaments. This decision comes after his appointment with the national team in May 2025, which led to their qualification for the 2026 World Cup for the second time in history. The team is now gearing up to participate in the 2027 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia.
