Lapid Sets Up Misinformation Watch Center
Yair Lapid, the leader of the Israeli opposition, pledged to establish a operations room to combat false news during the October 27 elections. The room will include a phone number to receive suspicious content and experts' analysis to verify information. He emphasized that misinformation has been used for years by the ruling parties, and this step aims to deter disinformation campaigns, which are expected to be widespread before the voting day. This initiative is part of efforts to confront incitement and media misinformation during the election process.
