Microsoft CEO: Washers surpass AI in organization

The article discusses Microsoft CEO Brad Smith's call for the implementation of binding global regulatory rules for artificial intelligence, given the increasing risks associated with the technology and the current inadequate oversight compared to everyday consumer products. Smith emphasized the need for legislation that obliges companies to notify those affected in the event of system breaches or damages, and to activate "kill switches" to shut down AI systems if they spiral out of control. He believes the United Kingdom has an advantage in leading global standards and that governments and companies must work together decisively, considering the threat that powerful AI models pose to cybersecurity and overall global security. Additionally, he stated that self-regulation is insufficient and carries risks that necessitate government intervention and stricter regulations to ensure safety and security.
