Iranian navy reports tanker hit by mine

The Iranian Navy announced that a giant foreign oil tanker collided with a naval mine in the southern Strait of Hormuz, resulting in an explosion and a fire in the engine room. The tanker was carrying crude oil and was about to exit the strait, but all its systems were halted after the incident, which Iran confirmed was due to its crossing an unauthorized route and violating the strait's rules. An Iranian official affirmed that the management of the Strait of Hormuz is becoming stronger and cannot be opened unless the conditions announced by Iran are met, amidst heightened tension related to the incident.
