Libya and Africa push UN Security reforms

The African initiative focused on the impact of reforming the United Nations Security Council to ensure equitable representation for the African continent, emphasizing its right to two permanent seats with veto power and two non-permanent seats. Africans see this as a justified entitlement reflecting principles of justice and equality. The meeting discussed ways to enhance coordination among African countries to support these demands, with efforts directed toward joint diplomatic endeavors to unify positions and increase pressure on the permanent members of the Council. Participants confirmed that reforming the Council is a political and ethical necessity to ensure greater effectiveness in dealing with international crises. Libya committed to leading the initiative and supporting it to achieve tangible progress on this issue.
