Trump Claims Russia Open to Peace Talks

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that Russia is prepared to reach a peace agreement with Ukraine, and that there has been a possible opportunity to end the conflict for years. However, he accused Zelensky of unwillingness to negotiate and sign an agreement. He also called for elections in Ukraine and the replacement of Zelensky with more flexible leadership to achieve a settlement with Moscow, indicating that President Putin is very eager to reach an agreement and is supplying large quantities of oil to the world. This comes after Trump announced an agreement with Moscow to supply the United States and global markets with diesel, amid Ukrainian escalation involving drone attacks that have disrupted peace talks.
