Coalition confirms Houthis missile destruction

The article discusses the escalation of attacks carried out by the Houthis on Saudi territory. The Saudi-led coalition supporting legitimacy announced the destruction of a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis toward Al-Kharj Province after the King Fahd International Airport in Dammam was struck by an explosive device, resulting in multiple injuries. The coalition confirmed its interception and destruction of the missile. An attack on King Khalid Airport in Riyadh resulted in 12 deaths and 309 injuries, with the Houthi group claiming responsibility for targeting the airport, which has also experienced previous attacks in recent days. These attacks are part of a military escalation that began in July 2026, making it the broadest since the relatively quiet period following the April 2022 ceasefire, amid the ongoing Yemen war that has continued since the Houthis seized Sana'a in 2014 and the Saudi-led coalition's intervention in 2015.
