Netanyahu criticizes Pillay over ICC sanctions

The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump imposed sanctions on the International Criminal Court, aiming to protect security personnel and elected officials from prosecution before the court, which the United States refuses to join. The move came after former ICC judge Navi Pillay was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize; she had led cases related to genocide in Rwanda and was considered a human rights advocate. The United Nations and the global community criticized these sanctions, viewing them as an attack on international justice, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu launched an attack on Pillay, accusing her of incitement against Jews. The Palestinian Foreign Ministry praised Pillay for her defense of the rights of the oppressed, considering the award well-deserved.
