Taiz Under Houthi Pressure

Fierce battles are taking place between the Yemeni government forces and the Houthi group on several fronts, particularly in southern Yemen and along its coast. The clashes are concentrated around Taiz and the southern regions, with attempts to seize strategic sites such as Jabal Hubshi and Jabal Han, aiming to apply pressure on the city of Taiz and prevent the Houthis from expanding further in the area. Military operations have also seen limited progress toward the city of Dhu Bab and its airport, as government forces shift their efforts to reinforce their positions and secure their areas. This escalation comes amid a heightened Houthi campaign that has included targeting Saudi airports, including Riyadh Airport, in retaliation for the coalition's aerial support and the increasing Houthi attacks inside Saudi Arabia. These confrontations are part of a broader intensification called "Yemen Dawn" military operations, with the Houthis seeking to expand their response to include Saudi territory, following the worsening situation and intensified fighting in Yemen.
