Al-Alali intercepts Houthi missiles toward Riyadh and Khamis Mushait

The article focused on the escalating military conflict between the Iran-backed Houthi group and the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen. The coalition supporting the legitimacy in Yemen announced the interception and destruction of three ballistic missiles launched by the Houthis toward Riyadh and Khamis Mushait. In response, the Houthis claimed to have targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh with a ballistic missile, causing damage and disrupting air traffic. There were also warnings of potential attacks on Saudi oil facilities and airports. This escalation comes amid the ongoing Yemeni conflict that has lasted since 2015, which saw a significant escalation after the collapse of the ceasefire agreement between Iran and the United States in July 2026.
