Emirati 42B Dirham Investments Transform Pharma

Emirati investments are heading towards supporting the biopharmaceutical industry and developing the precision medicine sector in the Middle East, with a focus on building an advanced ecosystem that combines genomics, artificial intelligence, and local manufacturing. These investments include the Health, Medical, and Fitness City project in Abu Dhabi, with a cost exceeding 42 billion dirhams, which is expected to add more than 94 billion dirhams to the GDP by 2045 and create approximately 30,000 jobs. Additionally, the UAE has launched pharmaceutical compounds discovered using artificial intelligence, reducing the drug discovery process to less than 12 months, reflecting the technology's ability to decrease time and costs. The country's strategy aims to strengthen its leadership in the advanced pharmaceutical industry regionally and globally.
