Trump Highlights Intelligence Chief in AI Race
The Wall Street Journal has confirmed that U.S. President Donald Trump has appointed National Intelligence Director Jay Clayton to be responsible for the artificial intelligence file, leading a team tasked with preparing a report within 120 days on the risks and opportunities associated with the technology. The team, called the "Super Intelligence Force," aims to ensure that the United States remains at the forefront of development in the field of artificial intelligence while safeguarding its interests. This comes amid growing concerns from researchers and lawmakers about potential risks, such as threats to humanity. Trump has adopted a lenient approach towards regulating AI, fearing a weakening of competitive ability against China, while focusing on enhancing federal capabilities to face these risks.
