Al-Zaydi praises coalition pullout and vows disarmament

The mission of the international coalition against ISIS in Iraq has ended. Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi confirmed that the American forces and coalition troops have fully and definitively left the country, thereby strengthening Iraqi national sovereignty. He emphasized that the beginning of October marks the start of a new phase focused on enhancing the country's security and sovereignty, in line with constitutional principles—particularly regarding the disarmament of non-Iraqi armed groups. Al-Zaidi also stressed that the government will work to pass laws supporting security institutions and preventing the use of Iraqi territory and airspace for any actions that threaten Iraq’s security. Additionally, efforts will be made to boost air defense capabilities, reaffirm the status of the Popular Mobilization Forces, and maintain balanced relations with neighboring countries.
