Brazil and US to create customs task force

Brazil and the United States have reached an agreement to form a working group to discuss U.S. tariffs on Brazilian goods and issues related to bilateral trade. This came after talks between officials from both countries on the sidelines of the G20 Trade Ministers' Meeting in Milwaukee. This step follows Washington's imposition of a 25% tariff under Section 301 on Brazilian exports last July. Brazil is seeking dialogue and negotiations to protect its interests and expand opportunities for companies between the two nations. It is expected that Washington will present a proposal in the coming weeks outlining the scope of negotiations regarding tariffs and trade barriers.
