Ismaïl Ould Cheikh Ahmed elected OIC Secretary-General

The foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation elected Mauritanian diplomat Ismail Ould Sheikh Ahmed as the new Secretary-General of the organization, succeeding Chadian Hussein Ibrahim Taha, who has held the position since November 2021, with his term ending in November 2026.
