Algeria forest fires kill 12

Algerian authorities have found that 12 people have died as a result of the recent wildfires in several eastern provinces, which broke out due to high temperatures and strong winds. A total of 56 fires have been extinguished out of 173, while 75 remain active, mostly in the provinces of Bejaia, Tizi Ouzou, and Skikda. The authorities have carried out precautionary evacuations and closed roads in an effort to control the fires, amidst warnings of rising temperatures and an increased risk of fire spread due to the prevailing weather conditions.
