Economic Balance Project 2027: Draft Disaster Insurance Law
The 2027 Economic Balance Project report focused on improving the performance of the insurance sector in Tunisia, particularly through drafting a law to establish a disaster coverage system and to strengthen agricultural insurance. This includes enhancing oversight of foreign insurance companies and unlicensed branches to increase risk management effectiveness and provide coverage tailored to agricultural activities. The document also emphasizes boosting the stability of the banking sector by managing classified debts and developing financing services for small and medium-sized enterprises. Additionally, it advocates for reforms to broaden the investor base and enhance the capital market, aiming to fund economic growth in a more diversified and transparent manner.
