Libya to pursue Israel at ICC

Libya intends to file a case before the International Court of Justice against Israel, due to the downing of its civilian aircraft over Sinai in 1973, which resulted in the deaths of 108 people. Libya based its action on Israel's violation of the Montreal Convention and international law principles, and has declassified records of Israeli meetings related to the incident, considering them to provide evidence of legal breaches. The court has not yet begun deliberating on the case, and Libya is still preparing the official petition, outlining the facts and legal arguments, while emphasizing that any reference to Israel does not constitute an official recognition.
